Think you can predict like the local weather man… probably not, especially in Chicago! This was a weekly weather game concept I came up for promoting a weather personality across all of the properties that Tribune owns in the Chicago market.
WGN (720 AM) is a radio station in Chicago, Illinois, USA. i wanted to incorporate a design that would work with their tagline, Voice of Chicago. I couldn’t get to crazy with the design on basis that it is a talk radio programing station that has a wide range of shows.
Created design for WGN America. I created layout that allowed each show to have it’s own look within the over all arching design.
WGN America (formerly known as “Superstation WGN” or “WGN Superstation”) is a Chicago-based American superstation for WGN-TV, owned by Tribune Broadcasting Company. WGN America offers its national programming across North America without network programming.
2008 All-Time All Chicago Team is a micro site that highlights who the very best Cubs and White Sox players of all time. The design elements were also used for 1 hour broadcast show on WGN chicago.
This was fun project to work on. I got the opportunity to work with some very old baseball photos and bring together players through out the long history of the Cubs and Sox. I’m sure for some hard-core Cubs or Sox fans it was had to see these players share the same web space. With some of the time constraints on this project I kept the logo really simple and focus most of my time on making the players the focal point of the design.
Theme Manager is an online Flash application that allows stations to browse a site theme, preview it and select a unique color palette. Theme manager automatically generates graphics for them. I used to help me coordinate what each market wanted to use for their site template. I wanted the concept to be tied into the cms platform, however lack of resources prevented. With a little more time this could be extremely useful tool.
