Applied Science – CRC Screening Prototype

Phase I effort was to establish the feasibility of building and implementing a Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening application to assist primary care providers in tracking and managing their patients’ colorectal cancer (CRC) screening.  The application supports primary care providers by providing an at-a-glance display of a patient’s CRC screening history, national guidelines that are relevant to a patient, and educational materials to help them structure discussions about CRC screening.  The intention of the prototype is change the effectiveness of Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening process and ultimately aid in early detection and even prevention of CRC.

Demonstrating was built in flash  that highlights three use cases and gathered feedback and suggestions for improvement.  Some of the highlights of the interface was a timeline of patient information where the user can get a broad or detail view of the patients records.  Another feature was the user’s ability to move dashboard windows in the order desired.   My role was to provide development of the prototype and the UI guidance of how the interface function.
